It's been a long road coming out of the winter months but I think we can finally wave goodbye to the cold dark days and look forward to warmer, longer, sunnier days allowing us chaps to wear outfits that express this spring feeling. On this occasion, it seemed fitting to celebrate the change in the seasons with a gingham shirt, a lightweight cardigan and chinos, with desert boots to finish off the outfit. A gingham shirt is one of those wardrobe essentials that I think works for men of all ages - it's eternally stylish. >>
Let's be honest, for a guy a shirt and trouser combo is suitably smart and (at the same time) casual, especially if the pattern such as gingham check is the look that you're going for. I'm really into my cardigans at the moment and, paired with a shirt, it's just enough layering for the spring season where it can still be cold at times - believe me in the UK it can be COLD!!

What to wear with a gingham shirtFor the trousers, a pair of chinos are versatile and comfortable and make a suitable alternative to formal wear. The desert boots have a nice suede texture and they work well with an informal look.
I didn't want to overdo it, I just wanted to keep it nice and simple. I think it works pretty well, don't you?
