Last weekend I thought I'd wear my favourite jeans again - this time with a smart blazer and shirt combo. The pre-requisite pocket square says "dapper"; this one is from recently-launched brand The Hanky Chief. A pocket square is the perfect finishing touch to a blazer and they're one of my favourite accessories (I'm slowly building up a nice collection). >>
The Derby shoes certainly aren't boring and forgive the pun: I've put on my blue suede shoes! I really love the red sole on these - they're made from a sort of foam - and they work well with a flash of coloured sock. My Derbies are from Urban Outfitters... they're no longer available but I like these ones from Office which are very similar. With the rolled jeans they give the outfit a very fifties twist (a look I may become particularly fond of)!
Is there a particular decade style-wise you're a fan of? Which decade would you choose to live in just to wear the clothes from that era? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks Kenji, I think a flash of colour is worth the effort of adding something to an outfit. As always, you pay the highest compliments and can't thank you enough!
DeleteHave a good one..

Very daring! In a good way

Hi Greetje, many thanks. I think the weather will get considerably colder here over the next few weeks, so I'm making the most of adding a colour touch where I can... before it's coats, scarves and gloves everyday!
DeleteSpeak to you again soon
Keith
One of my favourite looks so far... the shoes and socks are stunning and I love the pattern mixing (shirt and pocket square) you got goin' on! Not sure you could look much more handsome than this?!

It's the hippie-chic seventies all the way for me, dear Keith!! But a little rockabilly from the fifties is totally awesome, too...and your rolled hem jeans and funky shoes fit right into that genre!!

Hi Monika, I do seem to be pulling off a bit of a rockabilly style don't I? It's those "blue suede shoes"!!!

ReplyDeleteA really great piece Keith. I'm not a big fan of dark jeans but I did purchase a pair recently and I'm kinds digging them lately. And wow those blue suede shoes. They just make ya wanna go dancing :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had more great getups like this nice unit hanging in my closes. all you need now is the 57 chev to go with it.
Ha ha... you're so right Robin, a 57 chev would look great on the country roads of England!
DeleteI know what you mean about the dark jeans, I wasn't a big fan myself but there are plenty of variations in this style at the moment, it's worth seeing if there's something for you amongst it.
Take care and I'll speak to again!
